PORCELAIN PORTRAITS

Once again, my granddarling Lo has lived her dream.   Morganton, NC, photographer John Payne asked her to model for him (for the third time), so the last Saturday of December we met him at his studio and went to several locations for a photo shoot.

My camera always comes along, but the images I get are not optimum.  Trying to stay out of John's way, my angle is not always the best.  And my Nikon D7000 does not play well with low light.  John shoots with a Nikon D700 and D800, and he is a pro of 25 years, so his shots always rock.

Here are a few of my shots.  Thought it would be fun to include some of the exotic locations John loves to use because the light is so beautiful!

John's studio is in an old theater with walls three floors high   He prints and frames very large images to hang on those walls.  Some of Lo will be hung.

If interested, the images from this photo shoot can be found on John's commercial Facebook page:

Hope your week is going well.  Mine is off-kilter, as I'm dog sitting for my daughter while she's in Belize on a medical mission trip.  I go back and forth during the day, then sleep there with the dogs - four Shi Tzus, a Golden Retriever, and a cat.  The baby dog was spayed on Monday and is boarding at the Vet's.  I'll be picking her up Saturday, unless I get her in the morning ahead of a winter storm that's scheduled to arrive tomorrow.

Till next time...

p.s.  I must have been traumatized because I lied.  There are three Shi Tzus and one Golden Retriever!

Oh my stars! Your shots of Lo are incredible. I can't imagine the professional doing any better. The green of her eyes is amazing. In one shot her eye color seems to match her earrings. I did have to lol at all the toilets. What the? Seriously tho, beautiful job!

Lo is a stunner! I still thinks she looks very European and that's a compliment in the nicest way! You must be so proud of her!

The dog is very cute too!

Hope you don't get too much of the white stuff!

I always thought you had a canon lol

Betty,
The first shot of LO is my very favorite. I think she looks all innocence.
sorry you have to pet sit. I know you like your freedom. That is a lot of work for you.
Hope you don't get too much snow.

Love,

charlotte

Betty, the photos of Lo are just wonderful. She is a beautiful young lady.

It sure sounds like you have your hands full with pet sitting. Sounds like fun though!

Hi Betty! Well it's not so warm here anymore and last night was so cold while we were out walking the dog. I was very bundled up!

In answer to your question, I didn't take the whole piece to the class the other night. It was just too big and heavy, so I just took the drawers. I figure if I can learn how to do those, then I can come home and do the rest the same way.

Hope you have a wonderful week-end!

Ahhemmmm (clears throat) Dear Betty, I really think it's time you updated your blog posts lol

Yes, the first thing i usually do is go and check the levels for my photos, however, this one wanted to give me a hard time and I am still in a deep learning curve for my new camera which will involve reading the manual which i kind of dread.

hope you find those wooden boxes, they are so fun to use as props!
