Family Time

The first week of the new year brought my daughter and her two girls from Marietta, Ga, for a visit.  This is the first time they've been here that the cousins didn't play.   Mostly they sat separately with their telephones, Kindle Fires, iPods, and iPads watching television!   It's so sad to me.  I've decided that next time I will collect them in a basket for an electronic time out!

Rea did go horseback riding with her aunt and cousin Lo on Saturday a.m.  Mo stayed at his home, and GiGi slept late and read.

Here are some pics of the Atlanta girls.  I could not get the cousins to let me take a group pic.

My lovely daughter.  She teaches at a daycare
and is training for a marathon, running half marathons now and then.

GiGi playing her new Daisy Rock guitar with sound system from her MiMi.
She writes music and is learning guitar from her dad.
She'll be singing one of her songs in the school talent show in March.  I hope to be there.
She also plays indoor and outdoor soccer.

This is 9-year old Rea.  She's on a year-round swim team.
She loves reading chapter books and doing Suduku.
Her mom took this picture last week.

A Colorado artist with ties to Atlanta recently had a art show at a Marietta Gallery.  The art work on show was inspired by poetry.  The one below was inspired by a poem by my son-in-law entitled "To Grace On Her Wedding Day."  It can be yours for $3500. I love the colors!

My blogging friend Sandy busted me for blog neglect.  She's younger than me and doesn't understand senility!

Until next time...

I was beginning to wonder if you'd post again. Good for Sandy! :) You have a beautiful family, looks and talent-wise! I'd love to do a marathon one day. I just started back on the Couch to 5k program this week and boy do my joints hurt. But I feel soooo much better. Please post more often. I've really missed your posts. Love the new header.

You have a beautiful family, Betty, and I am so glad you were able to spend time with them.

I know what you mean by the electronics. it has changed things greatly.

Happy Sunday to you!

Well you always make me laugh! It is always great to hear from you no matter when! The girls are getting so big and yes I do understand the gaget phase. Not sure I'm over it myself! Fun week, glad you enjoyed your visitors distracted or not!

I with Sandy on trying to bust you for blog neglect. I used to check all the time if you had posted, but since it was so rare I kinda put your blog on the back burner so to speak. Glad to see this, what a sweet family and how proud you must be of them all. I know what you mean about the electronics...they have taken over the world, especially young people.
